The Community Hall Project

The space allocated for a village hall in AvonwickAvonwick and North Huish have been without a community hall for nearly 30 years. The nearest village hall is Diptford Parish Hall, in the next parish. Part of the conditions for building the Higher Moor development was the provision of land for community use, with the intention that this site could be used for the community to build a village hall. The Avonwick and North Huish Community Hall Project (ANHCHP) is a group of parishioners who have been looking into the feasability of a new community hall for the parish since 2014.

There are also plans to make the church and tennis club in Avonwick better suited to use for events and activities.

After an 'enforced pause', we held a meeting on 15th September 2021 at the Avon Inn to tell the village what's happened with the project so far, and more about plans at the church and tennis club.
